Recording

  • I’ve always strived to make my recordings sound as life-like and as three-dimensional as possible. I choose studios, gear, and mics that allow me to capture a deep level of sonic detail. If we capture the largest array of sonic information, we then have the freedom to pursue any artistic aesthetic going forward.

  • During sessions I love to work quickly. To do so I plan ahead, stay organized, and stay focused on the next musical steps. I pride myself with the ability to cultivate a relaxed, productive, and positive atmosphere with clients, artists, and collaborators. Good vibes lead to good music…

  • I book sessions at a variety of different studios which range in their available space, pricepoints, equipment, and accomodations. After learning about the needs of a specific project I can help book the appropriate studio. Filling out the form below will aid this process!

  • Vocal sessions are the most common type of recording sessions that I do. I love to dial in a super clean vocal sound and witness the artist’s excitement upon hearing their own voice in a new light. If needed, I also love to coach and produce vocalists in the studio; helping fine-tune lyrics, phrasing, diction, tone, pitch, performance, energy, mood, and vibe. I’m a master at editing, comping, and tuning vocals to help craft the perfect takes.

  • As a drummer turned producer/engineer, I’ve found success in recording many high-level musicians in the studio world. My understanding of harmony, songform, arrangement, groove, and repetoire allows me to work with musicians seamlessly. I love recording with a collective of musicians playing together live, crafting their parts, and discovering the best approach to a song. I’m always open to the input of how musicians want the sound of their instruments to be recorded, their input always broadens my hearing.

  • A great producer knows when to remain quiet and when to offer their insight. If welcomed, I love to offer my ideas from more of a birds-eye producer’s perspective. My opinions in the studio are shaped by my ability to hear how a song will sound once mixed, a cheat code for interpreting a song and the production in real-time.

  • I currently live in New York City, spend 2-3 months per year in Hawaii, and frequently visit Los Angeles. I have stellar communities and studio affiliations in all of these cities. I’m more than happy to work in any of these places and can help facilitate logistics.
